  5. A Saucerful of Secrets
  6. See-Saw
  7. Jugband Blues
I somehow have never taken the time to listen to REALLY old Pink Floyd albums. "Saucerful of Secrets" is the bands second album, the last to include Syd Barret, and the only to include all 5 main band members. Barrett was becoming increasingly unstable during these recording sessions and David Gilmour was brought in to assist on the album. The style of these old Pink Floyd songs are space rock and psychedelic rock in a more traditional sense. I think most of the songs on here sound like a lot of other bands from the 60's. There are even some comparisons to the Beatles here seeing that they had yet to break free of other bands and establish themselves as the Pink Floyd I know and love. They have some very Seargent Pepper era stuff on here like Corporal Clegg.
There are still some hints as to what was to come with these guys. Some war themes in the lyrics, long instrumental epic pieces, and the ocassional Vocals from Waters and Gilmour. This album just had so many things going to make it not sound like them. Different members are singing more often, Barrett is still contributing, etc. Decent album, but there are at least 7 Pink Floyd albums I'd listen to first. (074)
