     Geotic is another music persona of Will Wiesenfeld (Most well known as Baths). Geotic is the name he records all of his more minimal and ambient tracks under. I understand why he does this. Baths and Geotic music are so drastically different it almost seems necessary. He recently toured for the first time as Geotic with Dntel. So far, every available Geotic album is free to download here.
     "Bless The Self" is the newest release by Geotic. It is a fairly short E.P. but was definitely worth the listen. The 5 songs that form this E.P. flow together as one long hazy ambient texture with a simple but necessary beat under them. I enjoyed this E.P. but I don't think it demonstrates what Geotic does when he's at his best. One of my favorite things about some of his earlier full length recordings is his use of guitars within these atmospheric, ambient songs. This E.P. is worth a listen but I would recommend checking out at least the album "Mend" (free in the link above) first. It's one of my favorite albums to read and/or fall asleep to. (054)
