Venomous Concept is a band i've been meaning to check out for a long time. they're a hardcore "supergroup" featuring Kevin Sharp (Brutal Truth) on vocals, Danny Lilker (Brutal Truth) on bass, Shane Embury (Napalm Death) on guitar and Danny Herrera (Napalm Death) on drums. Buzz Osbourne (Melvins) played guitar on the first record. i'm not sure why he's not on this one.

the band was started in '04 when old friends Sharp and Embury were reunited over pizza and beers and decided to form a band together based on their mutual love of Black Flag, Poison Idea and other 80s punk/hardcore. they recruited Buzz and Danny and recorded their first full length Retroactive Abortion. Poisoned Apple is their 2nd full length and it fuckin shreds. it's raw as hell with just the right amount of metal influence. from the first track to the last this was a full on assault. i really dug this album. not so sure about the cover art though. i can't decide if it's funny or just awful. either way, i'll definitely be checking out their first album.
