according to Relapse this is the "last completely authorized AC release". Seth completed all the liner notes for this shortly before he died. as you can probably tell by the album and track titles this is a collection that chronicles the first few years of AC, back when they were a "noisecore" band whose goal was to be "the fastest, noisiest, shittiest band around and to have absolutely no musicality at all - no lyrics, no song titles, no music written for the songs." eventually though the band got bored and started adding some musical elements. in fact, by their 2nd demo they were already adding a bit of "musicality".
disc 1 is the original AC line-up of Seth on vocals, Mike Mahan on guitar and Tim Morse on drums (Morse also wrote an epilogue to the liner notes a couple months after Seth's death.) disc 2 is the 2nd wave of AC that has Seth on vocals and some guitar work, Fred Ordonez on guitar and Tim Morse on drums. the songs on this comp have appeared on Fast Boston HC, Greatest Hits Part 1, Old Stuff Part 2 and The Early Years 1988 - 1991, except for the 1st Demo and tracks 8-13 of disc 2, which are from AC's last session in '91.
