BADBADNOTGOOD has to be one of my favorite new bands. They are a jazz trio from Toronto,  all 19 years old and just beginning what should be a very successful (at the least prolific if not "successful") musical career.  They are a Jazz Trio in the traditional sense. A bassist, drummer and pianist/keyboardist but they are a jazz band that plays hip hop. I stumbled upon them due to videos of them working with Tyler the Creator. They also released an EP that included a medley of Tyler songs. They are all very talented and tight musicians.
This is their first full-length LP and is available for free download on their Bandcamp. This album is mostly Jazz covers and reinterpretations of hip hop songs from the past. I don't even know most of the originals and I still enjoyed all of the songs. They cover Nas and Flying Lotus just to name a few. Some of the highlights actually ended up being their original work like "Listeriosis" and "Salmonella" but the true highlight of the album is the 10 minute Medley of Songs from Zelda The Ocarina of Time called "Title Song / Saria's Song / Song Of Storms". It is incredible, beautiful and made me realize how much those songs are ingrained in my head despite the fact that I haven't played the game in about 10 years.
I really loved this album and I can't wait to see where these young chaps go from here. They are in theearly stages of their career yet they still managed to blow my mind by blowing my expectations for jazz out of the water. (003)
