the 2nd album from Italy's One Starving Day. on their site there's mention of their music being compared to a cross between Godspeed You Black Emperor and Neurosis. i'm not too familiar with Godspeed but this album definitely has a heavy experimental post-rocky vibe with occasional Neurosis-esque moments. of the 8 tracks, 5 have vocals (and the remaining 3 tracks are under 2 minutes and aren't really "songs") but despite that the album still felt largely instrumental to me. probably because the songs are anywhere from 7 to 13 minutes long. there's a lot of instrumentation going on here. harmonium, vocoder, mellotron, glockenspiel, cello, and alto sax are just some of the things used on top of the guitar, bass and drums.
this was a really cool album, i'm definitely gonna try to track down a copy of their 1st record.
