Vaura is a project consisting of members of Kayo Dot, Gorguts, Religious to Damn, Dysrhythmia and Secret Chiefs 3. the music takes elements of metal, shoegaze, post-punk and goth, among other things, and blends them together. Selenelion (which is the moment during a lunar eclipse when the sun and the eclipsed moon can be seen at the same time) is their debut record. even with so many musical styles incorporated into their music the album still flows  as a whole. it never feels forced or like it's just a collection of genres or something. i really dug all the different things going on on this album, from the metal and blast beats to the acoustic and gothy parts this album was really well done. in an interview with Brooklyn Vegan done back in February the band said they had half the tracks for the new record already recorded and that they're writing the rest now (with more blast beats!), i'm definitely looking forward to checking that out.
